It’s worth taking part!
For the second time, HOWOGE, supported by the Berlin City Cleaning Service (BSR), is launching the "Your Clean Way to School" competition. In May and June, Berlin schoolchildren are called upon to collect rubbish on their way to school and to develop ideas on how to make their way to school more beautiful. Because where there is no rubbish, you feel good!
What is there to win?
- A school trip voucher worth 2,500 euros!
- Each school will receive a 100 euro voucher from a hardware store to beautify their schoolyard
As part of working groups or class projects at schools, teachers can also address topics such as waste, waste avoidance, separation systems, recycling/upcycling, climate and environmental protection. The BSR can provide illustrative material for this purpose.
That's how it works!
As soon as your school has registered for the campaign with HOWOGE and at www.kehrbuerger.de, it will receive “Kehrenbürger” packages (grabbers, gloves, buckets and garbage bags) from the BSR. With this equipment, the students can carry out the weekly cleaning campaign until the end of June. The filled garbage bags will be picked up free of charge by the BSR at an agreed location.
Your school will then use the garbage reporting formto report once a week to dein-sauberer-schulweg@howoge.dehow much garbage has been collected in bags.
Each working group/class also has the opportunity to go on an exciting school trip with an exclusive tour of a BSR recycling center in their area. We also call on schools to organize action days with parents, friends or local clubs. Collecting together brings twice the fun and increases the chance of winning!
And to top it all off, there will be a big event with all participating schools in Tierpark Berlin. "Checker Julian" alias Julian Jansson from the ARD program of the same name will announce the winning school on July 5th at 10 a.m. So let's get started!
You only have to fulfill three simple conditions to participate:
- 1. One fixed group per primary school
- 2. Garbage collection campaign once a week
- 3. Commitment to the regular implementation of the garbage collection campaign with accompanying measures
