for December 2022, HOWOGE's down payment for the advance payment of heating costs to the utility companies will be subsequently taken over by the federal government. With the EWSG, household customers and smaller companies with an annual consumption of up to 1,500 MWh (gas) are relieved by a one-off transfer of the amount for December. Of course, this also applies to HOWOGE tenants.
The most important thing for you: You don't have to do anything else!
HOWOGE will credit and offset your share as part of the 2022 operating cost statement next year.
According to the law, tenants have the option of reducing the advance payment for heating costs in December by the part by which it was increased in the last 9 months.
New tenants who concluded a rental agreement between February 2022 and the time the law came into force on November 19, 2022 are exempt from the operating cost advance payment of 25 percent for December 2022.
In both cases it is absolutely necessary that you inform us immediately in writing about the application of your right of reduction - otherwise a reminder will be sent automatically.
Please note:HOWOGE tenants with oil and pellet heating systems are not entitled to assumption of costs.
